University of Michigan seeking Director of Research and Creative Practice Development in Ann Arbor, MI, US

Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning has a diverse portfolio of sponsored research and creative practice (R+CP) work that is highly collaborative with ambitions for real-world application. Our R+CP projects span a wide spectrum from building technology, digital fabrication, advanced robotics, material systems, transportation planning, urban systems, historical research, spatial justice, engaged social innovation with community partners, and artistic production and exhibition. Although a small unit at the university, annual research expenditures have doubled in the past four years to approximately $3million. Roughly 40 new external proposals are submitted each year, with a similar volume of internal proposals to cross-campus initiatives. The funding comes from a wide range of sources, including non-profit foundations, industry partners, and federal agencies such as the USDOT, NSF, NIH and DOE.
