Devoted to the work of one of the greatest artists of our time, Gerhard Richter: Painting After All will span Richter's six-decade-long preoccupation with the twin modes of painterly naturalism and abstraction, in relation to photographic and other representational iconographies. Comprising over one hundred works from the artist's prolific career, this major loan exhibition will present an incisive cut through Richter's entire oeuvre, highlighting two important recent series, Birkenau (2014) and Cage (2006), both of which will be exhibited in the United States for the first time.
